Life can be very hectic at times. Throughout the day we are allowing negativity to infiltrate our mind and we are breathing in toxins. Sometimes, we can become so busy and wrapped up in the rat race, that we are unable to tear ourselves away for twenty minutes for “me” time to distress and unwind.
The bathtub is the perfect place to distress. Many of you may already know this, and take frequent bubble baths. However, if you replace the bubbles with a little something extra, your bath time will transition into a detox session.
Once a week for twenty minutes, you should schedule a detox bath soak.
A detox bath is a great way to relax your mind, and cleanse the body of toxins out through your pores. It is important to note that detoxification happens at both a chemical and emotional level. When taking a detox bath, it important to give yourself time and space to relax. You should consider dimming the lights and lighting some candles, or turning on some soothing music.
Prior to the bath, ensure that your tub is impeccably clean. Also, thoroughly wash your body in the shower with a loofa sponge to get rid of dead skin. Once you have showered, fill your tub with hot water and your ingredients for your soak.
At the boutique, we recommend, a Lavender and Hibiscus Mineral Bath Soak which is made with organic lemon myrtle, lavender, hibiscus, rose petals, and a blend of Atlantic Ceara, Pink Himalayan and Epsom salts, scented with lavender oil. The mineral and epsom salts silken the feel of water and provide a relaxing, floating sensation that eases muscle aches, while the natural lavender and hibiscus extracts provide a calming, relaxing scent that brings a sense of well being.
We also recommend a Coconut Milk Soak. It instantly calms dry skin. The ingredients of coconut milk, cow’s milk, chicory Root, sea salt and sweet almond oil work in conjunction to soothe upset skin and reduce inflammation and swelling.Detox baths and soaps will lead to dehydration, and it is important to drink plenty of water.
Give your body and mind a little bit of loving. You will not regret it.
